2024 Dog Show Fun

Each year one of the highlights for many is our popular dog show and with classes for all it is packed full of fun in all shapes and sizes. From our tiniest competitors T-Rex to one of our hairest competitors Bertie each year we love meeting all of the gorgeous dogs that come along to the show and join in our fun dog show. With rosettes, goodie bags, dog toys, treats and of course the championship’s prize bundle it is a joy to so many happy dogs with their owners.

• Class 1 – Prettiest Bitch
• Class 2 – Most Handsome Dog
• Class 3 – Happiest Puppy (Under 18 Months Old)
• Class 4 – Best Rescue
• Class 5 – Waggiest Tail
• Class 6 – Scruffiest Mutt
• Class 7 – Best Trick
• Class 8 – Best Young Handler (Under 12 Years Old)
• Class 9 – The Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home
• Class 10 – Best in Show Championship (including All the 1st Place Dogs from Each Class)

We were lucky enough to have treat bags dontated by The Country Mutt with championship winners vouchers provided by John Toomers Country Store & Garden Centre and Maidments Country Supplies.

Highlights from the Dog Show

Each and everyone of the dogs regardless of breed, age or background were most definitely winners over the weekend however as always there are a few that stood out and their stories either pucked at the heart strings or made us laugh and smile with joy!

Tiny little T-Rex the small in body and minety in attitude, already mentioned was one of our rescues and his story is an absolute heartbreaker. Each of the rescues were special and with sad stories and in some cases unbelievable previous histories, which are now though all happily in new homes for life!

Then we had some real superstars ready for Britain’s Got Talent in our Best Trick classe on both Saturday and Sunday! One in particular stands out from Sunday that even has their own Instagram account and was the result of what must have been hours of training.

Talking of high levels of training our wonderful retired police dog also made an appearance in some of our classes demonstrating the incredible obediance levels they achieve and retain even in retirement. The WAGs police dog stand in the trade area was popular all weekend and their super star canines received many hugs from our visitors.

New Classes Coming in 2025

We are already planning 2025 with talk of new classes due to popular demand from some of our dogs and their owners in 2024! We won’t spoil the surprise but it promises to be even better if that was actually possible! We were amazed we actually have more dogs tan ever enter the classes in 2024 and we were delighted to raise more than five times the amount raised in 2023 towards charity so a massive thank you to all involved.

Finally lets just say what an absolute treat it was to get to meet all of the wonderul dogs and of course steal a few hugs, licks and puppy sit as well!
