As a sponsor and also volunteers at the show we were involved in the lead up and setup, the weekend itself and partially the pack down too! The Dauntsey Festival of Transport & Country Show stands out in our calendar as a highlight and one we really look forward to. We know just how important sponsors are to a festival and country show which is why is is such an honour to be among those supporting this brilliant show.

As a marketing consultancy and agency we support a lot of different businesses and organisations, but it is community events like this where we enjoy meeting visitors and getting suck in. This year myself, Liz Graney the owner of Escape the Village, and my daughter Izzy Graney our Executive Assistant in the business were involved in all stages of the show.

Enjoying The Dog Cuddles

An absolutely highlight that pulled us in was the dog show. Last year (2023) we volunteered on the Sunday but we were delighted when we were asked if we would run both days in 2024. Getting to meet all of the amazing dogs and their owners as dog owners ourselves is a real treat. Given a chance I can honestly say we would happily bring each and every one of them home with us. Working with both the retired police dog team on the Saturday and our local police on the Sunday was great fun and a real challenge helping them with the classes and of course trying to select the winners from the fabulous variety in the show each day.

Who couldnt be happy and feel throughly spoilt to receive so many licks and cuddles from all of the beautiful dogs. It was also wonderful to recognise a few we met last year and catch up with their owners of course.

Getting Involved as Sponsors

Getting involved as sponsors is an absolute no brainer for us with a donation to the show funds, volunteering over the weekend and providing our support in anyway we can during the lead up to and after the show as the commitee now prepares for 2025. We have loved it so much we have even given in to Ali Potter and her request to join the committee planning 2025!

However as sponsors they come in all shapes and sizes, with some providing much needed financial support and others providing essential infrastructure for the show. Without either of these it would make it extremely difficult to run the show successfully. The benefits from supporting a great show like this as a SME extend beyong giving back though of course. We have seen traffic to our website and social media increase in the weeks leading up to the event as they team generously shared some of our posts and tagged us in their own posts. Plus of course the opportunity to have a banner in the main show arena and some lovely mentions during both days over the show PA system too!

A Personal Highlight

An absolute highlight for us while volunteering over the weekend was supporting Martin from the Recycled Racehorse Falconry Display Team so closely. Izzy definitely got the fun bit assisting in the displays, having each of the birds fly to and off her. While I drove his truck in with the birds in the back and the dogs in the cab as he rode Caymans (his gorgeous retired racehorse) up to the arena for each display. An experience we will save in our memories for a lifetime!

I should say that both Izzy and I have many years of experience with large retired racehorses and Izzy has flown birds over the years before so we were well placed to to assist together with a comprehensive induction from Martin too on his requirements during the two displays each day.

A show highlight for the Escape the Village team was assisting Martin our falconry display with their areana disaplays all weekend!

Highly Recommend Becoming Sponsors

As sponsors and volunteers we highly recommend getting involved. being part of the team, enjoying a busy and fun packed weekend and most of all being able to give back to our local community and charity! So 2025 may seem like a long way off now but if you are even remotely tempted to either become a sponsor or volunteer next year reach out to the team below.
